Silvina

What is a typical day in the life of Silvina?
Oh there is no typical day! I work around deadlines, balancing between important and urgent matters. What I never skip is doing 5 minutes of face yoga when i wake up. Also exercising a little everyday, preferable before midday (If I pass midday without having done my activity, after that it is hard for me to follow my routine). I try to do yoga at least 3x week, rowing 2x a week, and 1x a week weight lifting. I would say that yoga is the base of all exercise.
Apart from those days when I am on set, afternoons are either working on Silvina LONDON or preparing for castings and auditions. My husband and I enjoy being at home in the evenings.
What’s in a name? Why Silvina? It’s like you have the perfect name for your product!
Ah yes! :)) I used my real name for Silvina LONDON, as the idea of creating the Grey Hair care line came from the silver community on social media. Women kept asking recommendations to care for their silver hair, and I struggled to find reliable products even for myself. So it was then when I decided that if there were no good products, I would create them. And I understood that, as I was going to be the main user, women trusted my word, so it was me who had to endorse the brand. And my name, SILVina, almost contains the word SILVer, so I took that as a sign!
And London has always been my inspiration. I love all the possibilities that this city uncovers.

Who or what inspires you?
I am very inspired by people who have achieved their goals through dedication and persistent effort. When I finished my first marathon almost 15 years ago, I learned that I can do anything. I just need to be determined, and invest the time and effort required.
In terms of creativity, I am inspired by London design in general. I love going to art galleries, seeing designers, exhibitions, anything that has to do with visuals, colours, etc makes me happy.

Who is your ultimate muse?

I actually don’t have “A” unique muse. But I certainly admire women who age proudly, showcase their age, their real selves, look amazing, but they look their age, and do not want to pretend to be younger.
Grey hair is so much more mainstream now & rightly so, but do you think we’ve still a way to go in terms of true acceptance?
It is difficult for me to think that someone would still not accept women wearing grey hair. On the contrary, I think it is so trendy!
If you had to pick a favourite product what would it be?
Well, it shouldn’t be me saying this,, but… of course my brandchild, Silvina LONDON Shampoo & Silvina LONDON Conditioner! I have been washing my hair every day for more than 2 years and I am still amazed at the results. I don’t use any styling or other products, and my hair looks shiner, smoother and healthy by the day. (And I hear the same from customers all the time)

Why?

The ingredients are naturally derived, all selected to bring a specific benefit, for example black oat extract improves glow and bounce back, hemp seed oil helps hair grow and deeply hydrates and nourishes. Babassu Oil strengthens hair strands, adds shine, and prevents scalp from drying. And other ingredients such as Guar Plant, Coconut Oil, Oat Oil and organic Aloe Vera.
Can I use your product even if I don’t have a lot of grey? I only have a few.
Of course! Any hair will benefit from Silvina LONDON. The line will make the hair shiner, smother, with volume and bounce, and as many MEN are saying, they help hair grow! (many have said they have more hair since they are using Silvina LONDON)

I LOVE your packaging – did you design it?
Oh Thank you! Much of it, I did. I chose the shape of the bottle and the colour, which I love. I picked that colour because I have a full wall at home that is the same colour. I practice yoga near that wall, and I realised that being near that colour makes me feel good.
After much discussion, I decided to add my image as I wanted the brand to be as a “personal recommendation”. And many people I asked said if they’d seen a bottle like that on a shelf they would be tempted to learn more. Let’s see how the labels develop in the future…I always say that the Silvina LONDON’s visuals, same as the website, are living beings that should evolve together with the brand.
I did the full website silvinalondon.com myself. I don’t know anything about programming, so it was (and is) a massive challenge!
But I can happily say that I enjoyed all of the process.
