Salt Baked Chicken Recipe

If you are bored of plain chicken, then this Salt baked Chicken recipe is perfect for you. Perfect for a midweek mix up, these tasty flavours are guaranteed to please the whole family.

Serve with roast potatoes and vegetables if your feeling good, but these can easily be swapped with chips if your feeling naughty.

Serves: 4

Preparation time: 5minutes

Cooking time: 50minutes

What you’ll need:

  • 1kg rock Salt
  • 3 Eggs
  • Thyme picked and chopped
  • Garlic roughly smashed with back of knife
  • 1 Lemon quartered
  • Rosemary picked and chopped
  • 1 whole Chicken

 

What to do:

  1. Place salt in bowl with thyme and rosemary, mix eggs separately then mix into salt.
  2. Place garlic and lemons into chicken’s cavity and place into ovenproof dish.
  3. Cover the breast in the salt mix leaving the legs uncovered to ensure even cooking time. Cook at 200c.
  4. Serve with Roast Potatoes, wilted Spinach, sautéed Wild Mushroom and Chicken Jus.
