DUCK & DRY – THE BEST BEACHY WAVES IN LONDON

With this inclement British summer weather, it’s always a good time for a blow dry, so I trotted along to Duck & Dry in Chelsea which has had a makeover in association with Backstage! To celebrate their tenth year anniversary. Conveniently located in the heart of Chelsea, it’s accessible by public transportation or on foot and I popped in with a soggy spring in my step, so I could truly duck in for a dry!

Founded in 2014 by Yulia Rorstrom, Duck & Dry has made a name for itself for creating a social life for your hair, and each branch boasts a relaxed atmosphere and first class treatments. The newly revamped Kings Road branch offers colouring treatments, makeup, and brows, as well as the Colour Analysis service where hair specialists can determine which unique colour they formulate for you – as well as the iconic blow dries, updos, manis and pedis that they are known for.

The revamped salon is shiny but not intimidating as I was offered a Prosecco on arrival and made myself at home on the comfy pastel sofa while I waited for my station. I was preening myself pre-date so took the advice of my stylist and opted for a beachy wave blow dry, rather than my usual go-to poker straight.

Expertly done, the experience along with a luxury wash, only took thirty minutes, which makes it a perfect pick me up if you’re in a rush. I was, however, following this with a mani, so had a second glass of fizz as my manicurist buffed and treated my nails and finished off with some summer-ready neon orange talons. I could have chosen a classic French tip or more outlandish design to make a statement, but my nails are short, and I always opt for an “M & M” vibe which is still going strong!

The whole experience was like getting ready with friends as I sipped my fizz and got pampered; my date was impressed with my hair and nails too!

Pop along to Duck & Dry and see what’s on offer!
