V Is For Victory At The Museum Of Childhood

Friday Fun Days at Museum of ChildhoodTeach little ones just what it was like to live in Britain during the Second World War, with the Museum of Childhood’s ‘V is for Victory’ day.

Throughout August London’s Museum of Childhood have turned Fridays into Fundays, entertaining little ones and the parents from all over the city with their arts, games and music inspired days. Their aptly named Family Fun Fridays will draw to a close on Friday 30 August, just in time for the new school term to begin.

To celebrate the end of such a fantastic, fun (and sun) filled summer, East London’s Museum of Childhood are hosting an all day V is for Victory event on Friday 30 August. Mums, start perfecting those victory rolls, as this sure to be a summer day out the whole family will enjoy.

This Friday’s theme? War time Britain. Little ones will find out what it was really like to live through WWII by becoming a member of the Royal Pioneers. They’ll be able to show off their action man skills in the assault course, or get thrifty in a wartime inspired make and mend class.

Inquisitive types can get to grips with a metal detector and hunt for dangerous mines, whilst others can learn the drills their grandparents or even great grandparents did before them.

For a quieter type of entertainment, take a pew at storytelling time, which will take place at 11.15 and 12.45.

And perhaps not quite within the wartime theme, between 10.30 and 12.45 little artistic types can get crafty in the ‘make your own animal mask’ class. Well who doesn’t love an animal mask?

Keep calm, and get you and the family down to the Museum of Childhood this August.
