TAROT AND TIME OUT AT SACRED TONES, LONDON

There’s something in the air that has made me want to express myself at the moment and learn more about my emotional needs, so I have been looking outside the box for more ways to be at one with myself.

My journey of self-discovery took me to the tranquil Sacred Tones wellness centre in sleepy Parson’s Green, London. I’d booked in for a Tarot reading and sound healing which I was hoping may clarify things in my busy mind.

As soon as I entered the centre on the busy New Kings Road, I felt a lot calmer, thanks to the tranquil atmosphere and lovely smell, whilst I removed my shoes and was offered a cup of herbal insured tea.

My journey started with a card reading with Tor, a multidisciplinary spiritual practitioner who grew up with a clairvoyant medium grandmother, surrounded by crystals, tarot cards, and healing techniques. I was a tad apprehensive as I just read my own Angel cards for affirmations, but I felt very at ease as Tor as we got comfortable on the bolsters and furry rug and Tor found out more about my lifestyle prior to reading my life energy at the time and give tools to help me connect with myself and use my intuition. The card reading was taking place before the sound session in the same room, and although I had a private session, the cosy room had space for a dozen clients to lie down.

I was lucky to get an individual reading, as Tor normally pulls out two cards for each client in his session, and although I will not divulge what they said, they resonated with my questions and gave me food for thought- highlighting how the energies of my past are affecting the present and how my motivations are shaping the future. The cards speak of the obstacles you might be facing in your life and the ways in which you might be holding yourself back and provide self-insight and spiritual growth. Normally the two-card reading provides a more basic dose of clarity.

Complementing this, my fifty minute class contained breathwork and a vocal sound bath which involved relaxing under a blanket whilst being ‘serenaded’ by Tor’s voice which vibrated in a deep wordless hymn and hands on energy-healing; the more you surrender, the deeper you will release any blockages and the effortless. If people try to do something, it’s actually a resistance, and the more you are open to any sensations or anything else that comes up, the more interesting the experience.

Finally, I was brought back into the present as my breathing was more noticeable and I slowly exited the relaxed, dreamlike state that can often happen with sound vibrations; and all this by midday! I left the centre feeling like I’d made a new friend and strolled into Fulham with a swing in my step! The Tarot reading floating around in my very relaxed new brain!
