How to prepare for travelling abroad

It might have been a long time since your last vacation because of the Coronavirus pandemic. With lockdowns and tight restrictions for getting into other countries, it comes as no surprise that people stopped going on holiday.

Now that we have entered 2022, people are beginning to have hope that maybe this is the year holidays are back to normal and if that is the case then you may need advice – or maybe just a memory jog – of everything you need to prepare before travelling abroad.

Entry requirements

Before you plan any trip, you must check the travel advice for that country to ensure you have the correct documentation to enter.

Many countries demand that you have some form of government recognised COVID pass which can usually be obtained by being fully vaccinated or having a negative lateral flow test. Without this, you may not make it through security before being sent home.

Getting to the airport on time

If you are travelling for the first time in a while then you may have forgotten about the added stress from airport security and with recent delays resulting in people missing their flights, make sure you arrive on time at the airport so this doesn’t happen to you.

To get there on time, you’ll need reliable transportation and with airport transfers, you won’t have to rely on public transport to get you to your terminal.

Packing your bag

Packing a suitcase can be one of the more tedious tasks of any trip and quite frankly no one enjoys doing it.

However, one way to make it a little easier is to create a list of everything you need and the quantity of these items. A week’s summer holiday might require three bikinis, four dresses, two pairs of trousers and four tops – we recommend packing extra just in case you spill something down an item of clothing.

Plan, plan, plan

Don’t waste your holiday feeling unsure of what the best things to do are. Instead, do some research beforehand and create an itinerary to ensure you don’t throw away time while you’re away.

Choose some famous tourist spots to visit, restaurants you want to eat at and decide how you will get around the city. This will optimise your holiday tremendously well and you can guarantee you’ll be having fun 24/7 with your solid plan.
